As the third-largest high technology employment center in the United States, Dallas has been dubbed the "Silicon Prairie." With one of our offices located at the Dallas Infomart, the world's largest high-tech exhibition and information center, TradeStation Group is uniquely positioned in Dallas's high-tech core.

Dallas has a cost of living equal to the national average, and considerably lower than many major east and west coast cities. Dallas has no personal income tax and the local sales tax ranges from 6.25 to 8.25%.

The Dallas/Fort Worth area is the second-largest home construction market in the nation and, according to the ACCRA cost of living index, one of the least-expensive metropolitan markets. From the upscale suburbia of Plano to the trendy lower Greenville area, choose your dream home and location.

Dallas is a major medical center providing state-of-the-art health care supported by aggressive research and education programs. Eight of the nine Texas medical members of the National Academy of Sciences, four active Nobel Laureates and 13 of the most cited scientists in the world are on faculty at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, which is just one of 60 hospitals in the Dallas area.

Children have every opportunity to excel in one of the Dallas area's many excellent public, private, magnet and vanguard schools. There are also 26 colleges and universities in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, plus five community college districts with 17 campuses.

With an average commute time of only 24 minutes, getting to work in the Dallas area is much quicker than most other major metropolitan areas. The Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) provides a network covering 700 square miles in Dallas and 13 surrounding suburban communities. Dallas is also home to two major airports - Dallas/Fort Worth International, a hub of American Airlines, and Love Field, a hub of Southwest Airlines.

Dallas is one of a few cities in the nation with seven major league sports teams including football's five-time Super Bowl champions, the Dallas Cowboys, baseball's Texas Rangers, hockey's 1999 Stanley Cup winning Dallas Stars, soccer's Dallas Burn, indoor soccer's Sidekicks, the Dragoons of polo, and basketball's Mavericks.

The Dallas Arts District is the largest urban arts district in the country with approximately 36 professional and community theaters, 12 symphony and chamber orchestras, three ballet groups, a world- class opera association and over 160 museums, galleries and artistic attractions.

Within 100 miles of the city of Dallas are 406 public parks and more than 60 lakes and reservoirs—all for your outdoor enjoyment and pleasure.

Shop to your heart's content at the upscale Galleria Mall - complete with all the popular stores plus an ice skating rink - or go for the bargains at Grapevine Mills, a huge outlet complex. If roller coasters are more your style, hop on over to Six Flags Over Texas for amusement park heaven. Or step up your evening with the exciting and varied night-life that Dallas has to offer - from the high-energy of West-End to the country flair of Downtown Fort Worth or the laid back style of Lower Greenville - it's all there. Centrally located in the southern United States, Dallas is a culturally rich, high-tech haven that some of TradeStation Group's employees call home. Maybe you will, too.
